Liffeys Pearse announced their arrival in the top flight in explosive fashion last Friday night as they recorded a historic first ever win in the Senior Division and in the process left one of the title favourites, Tolka Rovers, shell shocked.
After a goalless and scrappy first half the Dublin 2 outfit burst into life just after the break when Andy Doolin produced a little bit of magic to fire a sweet low drive by Morgan Cranley from an acute angle to net Liffeys first ever top flight goal.
Lee Roche put Liffeys two goal up eleven minutes into the second half when curling home and the former Shamrock Rovers striker made the points safe with 15 minutes left when his deflected effort from the edge of the area deceived Cranley.
